Bright Colors

A bright color design usuall consists of a dominating white background and white background on the main content on the website. Most of the time the extra highlight colors used in bright templates, are colors of high brightness. In the case of using dark colors in bright templates the overall use of dark colors is limited to a few design elements and touches.

Dark Colors

A dark color design usually consists of a darker background image and lots of dark design elements such as menu bars and tabs. Any bright colors used in dark templates are limited to small highlights such as links, hover images or buttons.

Colorful Designs

Pretty much the title itself says it all. There is no limitation in the use of color and the template usually varies in both bright and dark colors. Colorful templates usually result in a busier more complex design that boosts the company theme, drawing more attention to the brand rather than the product.

Narrow Layout

Most of narrow designs have a fixed width layout. The overall conclusion is that no matter how wide or narrow is your screen you will always be able to view the design as it was originally intended to be viewed by the designer.

Wide Layout

Wide layout designs can still be fixed width layouts. The key difference is that wide layout designs use elements such as background images or menu bars that fit the whole horizontal width of the browsers window. These designs somewhat look better on wider screens and give a feeling of openess and space to the overall design.
